28 Dates Week 3-Something Old Made New

Hi Friends, we’re at week three of our date list and this week we’re going to take something old and either bring it back or make it new. If you’re just joining, click here for week one and two.
So, remember when you and your hunny started dating? How fun and free you used to be. OK maybe you’re still fun and free but in a different way? Well, let’s go back there and take a look at the kinds of things you enjoyed doing.
Some ideas:
15. Take a stroll down memory lane. Maybe visit a place that has special significance for you that you haven’t thought about in while. That restaurant you went to on your first date? The special place where he proposed? It’s fun to visit some of these old spots and reminisce about where you’ve been and where you’re at now.
16. If you can’t get out or childcare is an issues, stay in and grab takeout from that special place and watch a classic movie that you both love. I can still remember the very movie that my hubby and I watched together 11 years ago when we first fell in love. It was Grosse Point Blank and as a result I have a special affinity for corny John Cusack movies.
17. Again if going out is an issue, keep it simple and just try staying up all night chatting like you used to. (Well if you’re anything like us and have a bedtime of 10pm that is). Put on a pot of coffee (caffeinated kind) and maybe dust off the old scrabble board or have a Wii bowling tournament. Then head outside and watch the sun come up.
18. Head out to your local bookstore (if you have one close by) and talk about what your favorite books were growing up. Grab a coffee or tea at the cafe and maybe share about how your tastes have changed. Or pick out your favorite classic for the other to read and then set a date a month away to discuss, book club style.
19. Maybe you used to go dancing all the time when were first dating or there was a hobby that drew you together? Make some time and see what it would be like to try those again.
20. Go old school and hop on a bus or subway train for a transportation date. Explore some old hangouts or find some new gems.
21. Have a kid date without the kids. Head over to the zoo, amusement park or science museum and check out all the fun rides or exhibits that you maybe don’t get to see when you’re with the little ones. Laugh like kids.
Have a great weekend! And check in next Wednesday for a date recap.
