Date Night Recap and a Link Up
Just the other day I was listening to the radio and there was a story about how going on date nights is not only beneficial for couples but also for their children. Children of couples who go on regular date nights are more likely to succeed academically and are more likely to attend college and have fewer behavioral problems.
Yet, another reason to go out with your spouse. Do it for the kids.
OK so last week we talked about dinner dates and how to make them more fun.
Well, I took my own advice and hubby and I headed out last Friday to find a new place for dinner.
We didn’t have much of a plan, after we got the kids settled; we just decided to head down to Pacifica, a little coastal down just down the road from us and go from there.
So we drove around for a bit and ended up at the beach, just to look at the waves, we had a good chat and started catching up on each other’s week.
But then we started getting hungry, we drove around some more and looked up places on yelp and one place we found was closed, and the other didn’t get such great reviews. So we headed over to a place we already knew about but that ended up being closed too.
Finally, I remembered that right next door to that place was a little sports bar/ steak house place that I had driven by before and it seemed like it would be OK. So that’s where we ended up. At Vallemar Station
It ended up fun and interesting as the restaurant used to be an old railroad station along the Ocean Shore Railroad, which operated between 1905-1920.
There were fun little models of the station around the restaurant.
The food was GOOD. Hubby had a burger and I had an amazing Crab Sandwich. Yum.
In summary, date night was a success! We connected and discovered a new place to eat. Can’t wait for next week’s date.
