Sick Days

I had such grand plans this week of writing clever and interesting things and work on the blog and tackling projects at home, etc., etc., etc. But alas, plans change when kids come down with yucky flu bugs and even more so when mom get sick too.

It started on Saturday with my sweet little Emilia getting sick, but she felt better by Sunday. Only by that evening little brother had caught the bug too.

Moms, you know those moments when you just “know” you kid is about to get sick? Yeah, well that happened on Sunday night and it was gross. That’s all I need to say about that. By Monday I felt like I was going down too and it was pretty miserable.

You hear that moms can’t take sick days and I guess we really can’t just get away from ALL responsibilities but seriously when you’re, sick whether you’re a mom or not, just gotta do what you gotta do.  And for us this week that has involved watching lots of Veggie Tales movies and snuggling on the couch.

I felt a little guilty about it but the truth is that neither the little ones nor I have had much energy to do all that much. So while, our homeschooling may have taken a back seat this week, we’ve were still able to have some good character lessons thanks to stories like The Penniless Princess (my favorite).

I’ll be back soon, sweet friends! Until then, stay safe and healthy.
