31 Days for a Life Reset-Introduction
Do you ever feel like you wish there was a reset button you could press for your life?
I have. Lots of times. Many in the last fews weeks when things have not turned out the way I hoped or when I have felt days slip by without feeling like I’ve really taken ownership over my time. But most especially I’ve wanted a reset when I have realized that my days and how I am living are not reflecting what I believe my priorities and values to be. Ouch!
Honestly I decided months ago that I wanted to participate in the Nester’s 31 Days Challenge this year and explore the topic of “reset” and what that might look like in our lives.
So I started writing and drafting an outline for the series but then. . .
Then I found out my sister-friend has brain cancer and it’s bad and I flew out to see her last weekend and then of course who cares about blogging or writing or anything when life makes no sense at all right?
So I thought maybe I won’t do the series anymore, maybe I’ll do it another time or something.
But the more I thought and prayed about it, the more strongly I believe that this is the right time to talk about a life reset.
Because although my sweet friend is the one with the diagnosis, all of us are terminal.
Some may have more days than others but every single one of our days are numbered.
And I’m tired.
- I’m tired of the disconnect between what I want my life to look like and what it actually does
- I’m tired of feeling like I’m floating down a river and I have no control to change the direction I’m heading
- I’m tired of looking to others for permission to be ME when I’m the only one who can give it
- I’m tired of feeling too overwhelmed to make any changes or move in a new direction
- I’m tired of waiting on others for change
Are you tired too?
Would you like to reset some things in your own life?
During the next 31 day I’ll be exploring what it might look like to have a reset. To take back our time, our relationships, our life.
Will you join me in as we consider:
What needs to be put back into its original place or position in your life?
What is broken that needs to be re-set for healing (even if it hurts)?
What beautiful thing in your life needs a new setting?
I will be posting daily here and if you’d like to go deeper, join me on my Facebook page where we will be sharing more about out reset journeys.
*Subscribers, since I will be posting more than I normally do (just for this month I promise) many of you will be getting a daily email. However, if you would prefer to change your settings to receive a weekly digest email with all of the posts for that week you can do that by scrolling to the bottom of your emails and clicking on “update subscription preferences”, then uncheck blog posts and select weekly digest. However if you don’t mind the daily emails then you don’t need to do anything. 🙂
I’m so excited about this, Zohary.
Thank you!
I NEED this! I can’t wait to follow you the rest of the month. I will soak up your words like a sponge!
Thanks for stopping by Jenn!
What I took away from this post is that I need to buy some new jewelry. I kid. I know I need to be refreshed and renewed and reminded why it is I do what I do. Looking forward to following you on this journey!
Ha, well I don’t know if I can help with jewelry but. . . thanks for stopping by and joining along.
Your list of “I’m tired”s sounded like it came out of my own head. Really looking forward to this one!
Zohary, I know this place–of being tired and knowing it is my choice, now, to pursue Him more than ever. (Well, I think I’m in that place most of the time!)I know this is going to be a great series. I’m so glad you’re writing. I am so very sorry about your friend. 🙁
Thanks so much sweet Jennifer!
I love this, Zohary. Sounds like you are wrestling through some things that I know in my deepest place I need to give some attention to. Can’t wait to read more.
Great series! Came over from the FB group to read today’s post and then came here to read your intro…I’ll be back. Thanks!
