Five Minute Friday-Tree

I’m linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker again for her weekly Five Minute Friday link-up. Basically she comes up with a word prompt and your supposed to write for 5 minutes straight. Today’s word prompt is TREE. . .

She just drew this today. My 5 year old beauty who for some reason this afternoon decided she needed to draw a family tree. And I honestly didn’t even know that she knew what a family tree was and yet . . . she amazes me daily.

She came in all proud with artwork in hand and told me who was in each heart, mommy & daddy, grandparents, aunts & uncles, brothers and friends. All surrounded in love.

And I think we’re a pretty cute bunch.

And I also think about Matthew 7:17-20

Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

And I feel pretty blessed by the trees that we come from and this little fruit that we’re bearing.

  1. That’s an awesome family tree!! We made thankful trees this week and my daughter LOVED it. And that’s such a great reminder from Matthew. Thanks for sharing!!

  2. Stopping by from FMF. LOVE the artwork! So cool that she put everyone in hearts, not just on leaves or branches. I wrote about family trees as well! Although my three-year-old hasn’t drawn one yet. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  3. I’m so glad you are back, playing along with fmf!

So – that family tree is off the chart cute! I too love that she put everyone in Hearts on the branches! Precious!

So thankful for our heritage and all that we are grafted into!

  4. These kids! They continue to amaze me too. I considered writing about my family tree, but the running joke in my family is that it’s so intertwined, it’s more like one big bush! And yet, there’s your darling, drawing her own great-looking tree. Love the simplicity of their mindset and the beauty of their fruit.

    Go Zohary!
