First of all Happy New Year! I hope 2014 is a year of positive breakthrough and growth for all of us.
So on Monday I wrote about the Life Simplified Project and got an overwhelming positive response. I didn’t realize so many people were struggling with the same issues. . . but apparently we are.
The ladies in the project are all focusing on simplifying different areas of life and I decided to start with Health (Simplified) because well, if mama’s not healthy nothing else is going to get done right?
And I don’t know where you’re at with your own health but mine’s a bit of a mess, I have been struggling with several health issues and have failed to be able to feel better on my own. So I decided it’s time for real breakthrough in this area of my life and I have been planning on doing a 21 Day Daniel Fast for health reasons and also because I believe it may lead to breakthrough in other areas.
“So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting.” – Daniel 9:3
Starting Sunday, January 5th I’ll be participating in the Ultimate Daniel Fast and I highly recommend you consider joining me if there are areas in your life where you seek breakthrough, health related or not.
You see the practice of fasting is not about the food itself but the goal is to help us develop a more focused prayer relationship with the Lord. Yes, there may be health benefits but it’s more a time of focusing less on the food that we eat and more on listening to what God might be speaking to our souls.
OK, so you still time have if you want to join along. Head over to The Ultimate Daniel Fast and get signed up. I promise you’ll still get to eat though you will probably need to start eliminating caffeine and sweets like TODAY. Then go to amazon and pick up a copy of the book. And if you’re not quite ready to do it this time, that’s OK too, considering doing a shorter fast or perhaps doing it another time later in the year.
I’ll be back on Monday to share more about my goals for the Health (Simplified) portion of the project.
