Our Learning Room
I’m continuing along with the Not Back-to-School Blog Hop and it is School Room week so today I’m giving you a tour of our learning room. I call it a learning room rather than school room because we do all kinds of things in there not just school.
It’s also where the little kids just hang out and color or build with blocks. It’s where my teenagers watch their shows and play games and it’s also where mommy does her sewing and daddy does his work outs. So lots of learning happens in this room.
I shared a little about our family room/rec room last year after we had the hot tub taken out. And really it’s a great space. Basically it was a sun room that was built as an addition to the house and it’s right off of the kitchen which is ideal because when we’re not schooling out there, we are usually learning at the kitchen table.
As I mentioned this is a room where we do a lot of different things so I needed space to store supplies for all of us. We use the Ikea Expedit shelves for the kids’ school supplies, my sewing machine, supplies and fabric, other work material and other misc. items.
We also use this big Ikea table that I’ve had for years for school work, coloring and crafts.
There’s also room for the kids to just play trains or build with blocks.
And finally because no classroom would be complete without one. . . my sweet hubby put up a chalkboard for us to use.
I hope you enjoyed the tour. If you’d like to see other awesome school rooms check out some of the links on the blog hop.
