Review:"You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream" by Holley Gerth

In my last post, I mentioned that I was reading You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream by Holley Gerth and now I wanted to follow up with a review.
Everyone has dreams, big or small, right? In her book Holley Gerth talks about the God-sized dreams we carry. She states that the actual size of these dreams doesn’t matter because “he creates each one to perfectly fit the size of your heart”.

God-sized dreams are “about pursuing life with passion and purpose and going with God wherever he leads.

The book talks about God-sized dreams, including what they look like, challenges we might face when working toward one, overcoming fears and how to get started. Holley also includes questions at the end of each chapter for personal reflection, for example she has you look at how your strengths and skills line up with your dreams.

Now coming from a counseling background I have to admit I am usually a bit cautious with these “self-help” type of books. But this one I loved. Really, Holley does a great job of integrating Godly wisdom with practical resources and tips to get you moving forward. Even if it’s not the right time to pursue your God-sized dream, by reading this book you’ll be ready to go when it is.
She even has additional resources on her web site for going deeper and I totally have been doing them. That’s how much I like the book.
Seriously if you’ve been feeling even a little nudge toward something. Something that seems bigger than yourself; something that others might think is crazy; something that you might even scare you a little but also gets you excited; then you may have a God-sized dream.
But take heart; if God’s called you to something He can make it happen.

“Our role is obedience. God’s role is results”.
