5 Minute Friday-Good-Bye
Today I’m doing my very first link-up with the Gypsy Mama. She does this thing called Five Minute Fridays. Here’s what you do:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat on the prompt- no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Meet & encourage someone who linked up before you.

Today’s topic is “Good-Bye”
I work up this morning, still a little tired and groggy but then it hit me. Gasp! Today was the DAY, one of only a very few days where actually get a couple of hours to myself. MY SELF. The older boys at grandmas, the hubby off to the Giant’s opener and soon I would be dropping of the little guys at day care for a couple of hours.
Joy filled my heart. I don’t get these days often at all. Normally the kids only go to day care because I have to work but today, I have a delicious day off. I will get to enjoy (read actually finish) my coffee, I will get to sit and write (uninterrupted) on the computer, I will get to . . . pretty much do whatever I want!
OK, sure, there’s an electrician guy coming to put in vents in our house, but really he doesn’t care what I do. Sweet joy of joys, the gift of time alone for a busy mom. It’s like Christmas and birthdays all at once.
But first, I gotta get the kiddos fed, packed up, and signed in at school, and then give them a hug and kiss good-bye.
Saying ‘goodbye’ to the normal hustle and bustle of the day is fun. Saying ‘hello’ to a day for you, though seldom is to be celebrated. Enjoy your day. Quilted Blessings, Nita
Sounds wonderful!!! Hope you have a great, quiet day. 🙂
Delicious…yes!! I completely understand this. Yay for first link-ups!! Proud of you!
A bit of Heaven isn’t it!!! :))
Something I often forget to do…time for myself. This busy mom thinks the house has to constantly be spotless. Oh, how I should change my ways. Thanks for your blog. You are an inspiration.
Welcome Kara! It really does require effort to make time for oneself but I think before we can be “good” moms for our little ones we need to make sure we’re taking care of ourselves and sometimes that means taking just a little “me” time. Blessings!
