Life Coaching

What is life coaching?

Personal coaching is a partnership between the coach and client designed to empower the client to get from where they are now to where they would like to be. In Christian coaching we focus no only on where the client wants to be but where God wants them to be. It’s about casting a vision, creating a strategy and advancing towards the goal.

Together we will look at strengths and dreams and create a plan that will get you on the path of living as the person God created you to be.

As a coach I do not have all the answers but I have been trained to ask questions that will get you moving, and encourage and empower you to reach your goals.

How is coaching different from counseling?

Counseling is about healing from the past while life coaching is about looking at the present and stepping into your future. Counseling focuses more on feelings and asking the “whys?” Coaching is more action focused and digs deeper into the “hows?”

Coaching is not for people who have deep psychological pain or problems. It is for healthy individuals who are able to move forward and grow. I am not a licensed therapist so if you are experiencing emotional pain from the past, seeking help from a licensed mental health provider would be a more appropriate choice.

What made you decide to become a life coach?

I have always wanted to have a career where I could help others. Initially that is why I got into counseling and why I became a credentialed school counselor. I loved working with families, especially the moms who really needed encouragement and support. However, I got to a point in my career where I felt that I needed to make a change and do something that would allow me to share my faith while encouraging others.

I had coaching on my mind but put it off for many years. Finally, I realized I had been doing unofficial coaching through ministry and felt the Lord calling to pursue this further and so I became a certified Christian Life Coach.

My greatest desire is to help women pursue their purpose and live out God’s promises in their lives. I love to see women walk confidently in victory knowing who they are and whose they are as daughters of the most high.

How does life coaching take place?

Life coaching consists of weekly sessions together either by telephone or virtually via Skype or email. Each weekly phone session runs up to 50 minutes. The number of weeks depends on your specific goals.
